Welcome to Project Energy For Life Cameroon.
Our Mission.
Our mission is to reduce multi-dimensional poverty in a rural Fondom in Cameroon.
Our method is to deliver an innovative combination of small-scale distributed solar power and a medical kit in a box to individual homes (up to 18 family members) to be followed by a system that includes access to healthcare, free community Wi-Fi, and digital justice.
Our goal is to create a scalable and sustainable model for better health and well-being that engages the community, improves education, and enables economic development with a system of justice.
In October 2022, Project Energy For Life Cameroon launched a Pilot Program.
Five boxes were delivered to Elak Oku in the North West Region of Cameroon, a village where the electrical grid hasn’t worked in nearly two years.
People in oku have to beg and borrow electricity to charge their Cell phones.
Oku Community Radio is powered by a solar panel on the roof and fortunately, it allows free phone charging (below.)
“Civilization has come to our village.”

The Project Committee Chair:
HRM Fon Ngum IV of Oku.
HRM Fon Ngum IV was crowned in December 2021, a charismatic young leader with a law degree and an eye on the future. He wholeheartedly supports this project as part of an ambitious vision of a better life for his underserved people.
When he and the other families received their Project Energy For Life Cameroon boxes, he ordered a traditional reception at the palace in celebration.
Fon Ngum IV appointed a committee (of which he is the Chair) to receive and distribute the boxes, and ensure people know what to do with everything inside them.
The team includes an electrical technician to teach the correct setup of the solar equipment and a project nurse to help with the first aid kit and how to use the medical devices. Health education is vital to improving public health.
